mission of the competent authority of the People's Republic of China has completed its work on the evaluation of the national state control system on food safety in the part of beef production in Ukraine. Preliminary results have been discussed today, on the 27th of April, 2017 during the meeting of the representatives from Chinese delegation with the Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection – Volodymyr Lapa and other specialized specialists of SSUFSCP.
The parties have exchanged their opinions on further activities of the competent authorities concerning this issue during the meeting. In particular, following steps were outlined on the prospects for further approval and signing of the Protocol on inspection, quarantine and veterinary sanitary requirements for frozen beef to be exported from Ukraine to People’s Republic of China.
As noted by the representatives of Chinese mission, working on evaluation of state control system on food safety of beef production in Ukraine was rather fruitful and efficient. "The working process was organized on a high level, the competent authority of China was provided with the all necessary materials on the concerning issue and clarifications of Ukrainian specialists on functioning of the state control system on food safety and quality of beef production, and also the representatives of Chinese delegation were able to get acquainted in practice with the activities of farms where the cattle is grown, processing plants and laboratory network" – mentioned Xiong Xianjun, the Head of Chinese mission, Chief of Bureau of Import and Export Food Safety of AQSIQ .
He also said that the appropriate work was currently being provided on summarizing the results of evaluation and harmonization of the provisions of the Protocol on veterinary requirements.
In his turn, the Head of SSUFSCP Volodymyr Lapa expressed huge gratitude to the representatives of the delegation for the organization of this visit to Ukraine and also expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation. "The Chinese mission visit to Ukraine – it is a good opportunity to share the experience and deepen our bilateral communications," – concluded Volodymyr Lapa.
