"Currently 4 Ukrainian facilities are approved for export of poultry meat and meat products to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We are interested to increase the number of approved facilities as the same as commodity variety of food products. The potential of mutual trade in food products is much greater, and this issue will be the part of further joint activities of both Competent Authorities", – stressed the Head of SSUFSCP during the meeting with Vice-President for food affairs of Saudi Food and Drug Administration Dr Salah Al Maiman, held on April 5 in framework of the official visit of Ukraine’s governmental delegation to Saudi Arabia.
Volodymyr Lapa pointed the constructive development of relations between both countries, including the establishing of direct fruitful contacts between experts of competent authorities.
During the meeting representatives of SSUFSCP and SFDA have approved a number of working documents in order to update the procedures for exports of Ukrainian poultry products to Saudi Arabia.
In addition, during the discussion Volodymyr Lapa and Salah Al Maiman negotiated the possibilities of Ukrainian beef exports to Saudi Arabia. Thus far, Ukrainian export request is under assessment. Once done Saudi Arabia will carry out the inspection of Ukrainian companies interested in beef export.
