A common vision for conducting a campaign to prevent the spread of rabies and ASF in areas adjacent to the border, including the operational exchange of information and coordination of measures, were the main topics of the working meeting with the leadership of the General Veterinary Inspectorate of Poland, with the participation of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kyiv.
"Rabies and ASF are transboundary animal diseases, so coordinating the implementation of epizootic measures with the competent authorities of neighboring countries significantly increases their effectiveness," said Volodymyr Kusturov, Deputy Head of the SSUFSCP and Chief State Veterinary Inspector of Ukraine, during the meeting. "Our cooperation and mutual understanding are a reliable foundation for ensuring epizootic welfare, an integral component of uninterrupted international trade in animal products."
The event was also attended by the heads of the Service's specialised independent structural units directly involved in the implementation of state policy in the field of veterinary medicine and border crossing. Such meetings are part of the daily work of the SSUFSCP to ensure uninterrupted imports of goods necessary for Ukraine, as well as to provide new export opportunities for domestic agricultural producers.
